Dress Code |
The division does not require students to wear school uniforms. Personal appearance should promote their health, safety, and learning. The following is a summarization of our dress code. Each school may have additional dress code rules so please consult your child’s handbook for more information. Shoes appropriate for school, physical education and recess must be worn to school each day. Shoes with wheels of any kind are not allowed in school. Elementary aged students may not wear flip-flops, high heels or open heeled sandals. Middle School students may not wear rubber flip-flops. Please see your student's handbook for complete rules.
Clothing that bears pictures or language of an offensive nature is not acceptable. Undershirts, see-thru shirts and shirts that expose bare shoulders or the midriff are not appropriate for school.
Hats are not worn in the building.
Shorts and skirts must not be more than five inches above the knee. All pants and jeans must be worn at the waist level. Belts should be worn if needed to keep pants at the waist. Big heavy coats are to be worn on the outside and not inside of the school.
Please check your children's attire in the morning before they leave home to make sure they are dressed in keeping with these guidelines. Parents may be asked to bring a change of clothing to school, if the need arises. School administrators have the final authority to determine when student dress does not meet school standards.
