Summer is a great time for family and friends, and it is also THE time to catch up on FUN SUMMER TIME READING!!!
It is recommended that school students read at least 30 minutes every day. Reading promotes continued vocabulary development and improved comprehension. Parents are encouraged to join children in reading! Select books from the attached lists, visit the Appomattox Regional Library, use e-book sources!
Read a variety of literature including newspapers, graphic novels, poetry, chapter books or magazines! Don’t forget that free choice is important. Keep reading fun!
See below the reading goals for middle and high school students. Also, find lists of suggested elementary titles. To find out more about the elementary Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge, click HERE.
