Due to critical staffing shortages across our schools, all Hopewell City Public Schools will be closed to students tomorrow - Friday, August 20th. Both in-person and virtual instruction is cancelled for tomorrow.
This is a workday for all staff and staff should report to buildings at the regular time.
We are evaluating all aspects of our plans and procedures as we are in consultation with the Virginia Department of Health. We will provide an additional update tomorrow.
For any family wishing to have a student meal tomorrow, please call the school office by 10:00am to request a meal and it will be available for pick-up at the school between 11:30 and 2:00.
Our goal continues to be to provide in-person instruction in a way that we maximize health and safety.
