Please see below for updated information concerning the current pandemic. We will continue to keep the HCPS community updated as we watch developments concerning COVID-19 very closely. Our priority is for the health and well-being of our students, faculty, staff and families.
Given the constantly changing and evolving information related to the CORONAVIRUS, Hopewell City Public Schools will immediately be restricting all field trips to within the Richmond Virginia area and will be closing school on Monday, March 16, 2020 to allow teachers and staff to prepare packets of work in the event it becomes necessary to close schools for a prolonged period of time. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to begin planning now for the potential of an extended school closing in the near future.
As always, the health and safety of our students and staff will remain our top priority. We are in constant communication with our Virginia Department of Education, the Crater District Department of Health and our Region One school district colleagues.
We will provide daily updates to parents and families from this point forward. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to plan during this challenging time.
