This is an invitation for Hopewell High School students interested in undertaking an English Project with real world application. An instructor at HHS is publishing a collection of short stories into a book. Most of these stories are 1-3 pages long. You are invited to serve as part of a crew of final editors to this publication. Those who choose to participate will be given two short stories to read per week and will attend two weekly DIGITAL meetings (each lasting about an hour) to discuss them separately. In this sense, the meetings will also serve as a type of "virtual book club" until the project is complete. During meetings, students can discuss their opinions of each story, ask questions, and give suggestions to the author, including the style, mechanics, and contents of each piece.
Students who contribute regularly to these discussions will be credited as editors when the book is published. There are also potential opportunities for students to record readings for the audio book, and be credited for their voice work in the audio publication.
