Hopewell High School Reopen Plan

HOPEWELL HIGH SCHOOL TO REOPEN
Last Thursday, we closed Hopewell High School due to a positive case of COVID and the need for several individuals to quarantine. We said then that the school would be closed through Monday (today) so that we could continue any contact tracing, monitor cases, and ensure there has been a thorough cleaning. We have been monitoring the situation over the past few days and all indications are that the positive case has been contained and not spread. Therefore, with the cleaning being completed this afternoon, the school will be ready for use again after today.
While tomorrow is a holiday for staff and students, the school building will be fully open for use on Tuesday as a polling location. It is also the case that the positive case of COVID was in the front office, which is on the opposite end of the school from the gym, which serves as the polling location.
The school will then be open for staff and students (such as those who have been learning in-person and those involved in testing) again on Wednesday.
We continue to work to balance the needs for health and safety due to COVID and the need to provide services to our students and families. We appreciate your understanding, patience, and grace.
