COVID-19 Update

Dear Hopewell City Public Schools Families,

We want to continue to keep you informed when we have a positive COVID case in one of our buildings so that you can be as informed as possible for your health and safety.

Early this morning we learned of a transportation staff member who has tested positive for COVID.  This case also involves students who are transported to Woodlawn and to Hopewell High School for some of our in-person classes.

We have now completed an investigation and those students and staff who need to quarantine have been notified.  Out of caution and so that we can monitor the situation to reasonably ensure that it is contained, we have also moved some of these classes to be virtual through this Friday.  Students in those identified classes have been notified.

All other activities at HHS and Woodlawn can continue to proceed as planned this week, as they are unrelated to the situation of these classes.  Such activities include the SOL testing at the high school.

We encourage everyone to regularly monitor their symptoms and reach out to their primary care provider if they have any concerns.  Individuals can also contact the Crater Health District's COVID-19 hotline at 804-862-8989.  If any additional individuals are later identified through the contact tracing process, they will be contacted directly by the health department.

The health and safety of our students, staff, families, and community is our top priority.  We continue to work in close collaboration with Hopewell City and the health department to serve the well-being of the Hopewell community.  Please keep the health of these individuals and our community in your thoughts.  If you have any questions, please let us know.
