Updates and Reminders Prior to the First Day of School

Hi Hopewell City Public Schools families,

We’re looking forward to seeing students back to school with us on Monday, July 26, 2021! Please listen to these important updates and reminders in anticipation for the first day:

  1. School supply lists and back-to-school events/orientations are being sent out directly by each school. By July 14, all schools’ information will be available to their communities. Please contact your child’s school directly or check out their website/social media pages for this information.
  2. All students, new or returning, need to be registered via our new online registration portals. If you have already registered your child via the new online registration portals, you do not need to do so again. If you have not already done so, you can do that by clicking here.

  3. There are new immunization requirements for school entrance. The requirements are for students who will be learning virtually and in person. These requirements do not include the COVID-19 vaccination. View the new immunization requirements here.

  4. The CDC very recently provided an update to COVID protocols for the upcoming school year. The Virginia Department of Health will also be providing new guidelines this week. We are holding a virtual town hall on Tuesday, July 20th at 7:30 p.m. to review this information with our families. Please stay tuned for more information.

  5. Fall intersession courses are open on our website for registration here.

Thank you for your attention to these updates and reminders. We hope you have been having a fun and safe summer and are looking forward to seeing all of our students again on July 26.
