Dear HCPS Family and Friends:
It is with a heavy heart and deepest regret that I write to inform our school community of the sudden loss of our School Board Chairman, Mr. Greg Cuffey. Mr. Cuffey passed away surrounded by his family early this morning. Mr. Cuffey exemplified the essence of “Blue Devil Pride,” both professionally and personally, and we cannot even imagine our district without him with us.
We will be pulling together a full memorial tribute to him on our social media as soon as we can tomorrow, but in the interim, we wanted to express our deepest condolences to his mother, his wife, his extended family, his friends, his students, his Petersburg City Public Schools’ colleagues and especially his two beautiful children, of whom he was so very proud, “G2” and Kennedy.
While we will miss him beyond measure, we will strive each and every day moving forward to honor his precious memory and make him proud.
