Updates to New Weekly Testing System

Last week we made you aware of an opportunity to sign your child up for a new weekly COVID screening testing program that was going to start this week, the week of October 18th. However, we have made a few modifications to help the testing run more smoothly but need an additional week to get the testing in place fully. Here are some important updates and clarifications.

First, between now and tomorrow, Tuesday evening, you can sign up your child for a weekly COVID screening testing program if you want the reassurance that your child is free from the virus and want to do this to help our overall mitigation efforts. There are two online forms, a consent form and a school-specific registration form, that you need to complete to have your child be eligible. Your child will then be able to test each week with an individual test for them during the designated day at their school, but doesn't have to. This weekly screening testing begins the week of the 25th. Students who take a screening test continue to stay at school after the test unless their result later comes back positive.

Second, this week we are launching the opportunity for Hopewell City Public Schools parents to bring their children to drive-through testing again if their child has symptoms or is quarantined.  Please note that to participate in this drive-thru testing parents must complete the consent form (if they have not already) and a registration form for the location where they are getting the test. Here are the days, times and locations for drive-thru testing:
  • Mondays at HHS at 4:30-5:00
  • Tuesdays at HEJ at 4:45-5:15
  • Thursdays at WLC at 5:00-5:30
By completing the online consent form and registration form, the parent will receive an email or text with their child's test result each time, usually 1-2 days after the test is taken. The form does not need to be completed each time a student tests. Here are the links to those forms:
