All-Virginia Chorus concert in Richmond, VA at the Carpenter Theatre (Dominion Arts Center)

Two Hopewell High School students, Judd Blake and Jared Kelley, were selected to participate in the event.
On February 8, 2018, Judd Blake and Jared Kelley (HHS students) auditioned for All- Virginia Chorus which is an event that brings together all of Virginia’s top high school musicians. These students were two out of the four tenors that were chosen to represent our district (which includes Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Petersburg, Dinwiddie, etc.). The students had to sing a prepared piece of music and sight-sing a random 8-measure phrase after only 30 seconds of review. They both did an exceptional job of implementing their vocal techniques and music literacy skills, and have been rewarded with an amazing opportunity to sing under the direction of Dr. Lee Nelson of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. Congratulations to both students for an outstanding representation of Hopewell High School.
