James Fouts Named District-Wide Spelling Bee Champion

ames Fouts, a 7th grader from Carter G. took the HCPS Division-Wide Spelling Champion crown for the second year in a row after 9 rounds of spelling. Hilarious was the winning word. 10 elementary and middle school students received the honor of representing their schools out of the 2,000 students who competed at the classroom and school-wide levels. Jacob Emmert, a 5th grader from Dupont, was the runner-up. Congratulations! The next stop will be the state-wide Spelling Bee in Richmond, sponsored by the Richmond Times-Dispatch. #hopewellmagic
