Due to the weather, our free food market for families at HHS and HEJ has been cancelled this afternoon. We are working to reschedule and will share updated information as soon as possible.

Out of an abundance of caution due to lingering icy conditions in shaded areas and neighborhood streets, Hopewell City Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, February 21st, for all students and staff.

Essential employees should report at 10 AM. Your supervisors will be in touch with further instructions.

Due to the impending winter storm, Hopewell City Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19th, for all students and staff. Please stay safe and avoid unnecessary travel as conditions are expected to deteriorate.

A state of emergency remains in effect, and residents are urged to stay home if possible. Please ensure you have the necessary provisions and plan to be where you need to be by midnight tonight.

Hopewell Varsity Boys' and Girls' Basketball games against Highland Springs, scheduled for Tuesday, February 18, 2025, have been canceled.

The Regional Playoffs begin on Friday, February 21, 2025. Our boys' and girls' teams have secured the Second Seed and will have a bye until Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Both the boys' and girls' games will take place at Hopewell High School on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, with the girls playing at 6:00 PM and the boys at 8:00 PM. The opponent is yet to be determined. This is a reminder that Hopewell City Public Schools will be closed for all students and staff on Monday, February 17th, in observance of Presidents’ Day. Students and staff should return on Tuesday, February 18th.

The Keep Hopewell Beautiful Committee, along with the Hopewell-Prince George Chamber and Hopewell City Public Schools, are sponsoring an art contest for students. Students can enter the contest by returning their artwork and an entry form (you can print one from the website or get one from your art teacher) to their school's art teacher by February 12, 2025. Winners will be recognized at the fine arts festival on March 15, 2025.
