The Hopewell High School Band program will present its 5th Annual "Wonder City Classic" Band Competition on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. at Merner Field. The gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold for $10 for ages 5 - adult on the GoFan app. A host of high school marching bands will compete for bragging rights. The Virginia State University "Trojan Explosion" will perform in an exhibition along with the Hopewell High School "MBD." You don't want to miss this!

Hopewell families, the transportation department has released the bus routes for Fall Intersession Week A.

At the Thursday, September 14 school board meeting, it was announced that the 2023-2024 instructional calendar will be updated to honor Juneteenth on June 19th rather than June 14th. Additional information will be forthcoming regarding the impact to summer intersession.

Attention Parents/Guardians and Former Students of Hopewell City Public
Schools:
In accordance with federal and state laws, special education records are maintained
for at least five years after the student exits the special education program,
graduates, transfers, or withdraws. At this time, it is our intent to destroy all special
education records from the 2017-2018 school year. If you exited during that year
and are at least 18 years of age, you may request your file.
In accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia guidelines, special education
records that are not claimed by October 27, 2023 will be destroyed.

Here are 9/15/23 Friday afternoon transportation route updates. Have a good, safe weekend.

Beginning September 18, transportation routes 17, 20, 21, 31, and 32 will be driven by First Student drivers until further notice.

Join the Hopewell High School Bands and Choirs as we "Travel Through Time with Music" at our Fall Concert on Tuesday, September 19th in the HHS Auditorium at 6:30 pm. We would love to see your smiling faces listening, singing, and dancing along in the audience!
