The following are changes to regular scheduled routes for Thursday afternoon, 9/14/23.

On Tuesday night the CGW Middle School Wildcats football team traveled to Petersburg to take on Vernon Johns Middle School. This was the first game for the Wildcats due to last weeks season opener being cancelled due to the extreme heat. The Wildcats won 50-8 with the game being stopped at the start of the 4th quarter due to lightning. The Wildcats travel to Southampton County on Tuesday for their next game. Go Wildcats!

This serves as a notice that there will be a Hopewell City Public Schools School Board Meeting on Thursday, September 14th at 7:30pm. This session is open to the public.

In observation of Labor Day, Hopewell City Public Schools will be closed on Monday, September 4, 2023. Schools will reopen on Tuesday, September 5th.

Join us for our first EL Family event on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Hopewell High School from 5 to 7 PM. Come connect with the us, gather valuable insights, and enjoy light refreshments.

"Paddle in Your Park" returns to Hopewell at the 15th Annual PADDLE BATTLE on Saturday, September 23rd, hosted by FOLAR & RVA Paddlesports! We invite HCPS' students and families to participate from 11am-2pm at Hopewell City Marina for the FREE community paddle. You will learn about paddlesports and the Appomattox River, and you can try out kayaks, SUPS, & rafts. Walk-ups welcome but you can REGISTER ONLINE with RVA Paddlesports and reserve your boat and time: https://rvapaddlesports.com/rafting/paddle-in-the-park-boat-demo-day/ Children age 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult to get on the water. Don't forget to wear clothes that can get wet or a little dirty, sunscreen and a water bottle.

On Saturday, October 7th from 1pm-4pm Lamb Arts will have an Arts Fest at 230 E Broadway, Downtown Hopewell

As we strive to enhance our communications regarding late buses, we will continue to use the Edulog app and also have begun posting information about late buses on the Hopewell City Public Schools social media pages.
