Important: HCPS Weather Update

In regular consultation with City, State, and National weather resources, we are anticipating another severe thunderstorm beginning tonight and restarting tomorrow afternoon. All information at this time indicates a strong possibility of significant local rainfall accumulation and flooding in the city again. In preparation for this situation, please be advised and anticipate a number of potential district responses:  individual school closings after assessing building level impact overnight, delayed openings by specific school depending upon individual impact, early dismissals by school, delayed dismissals by school, students evacuated to other schools prior to dismissal from those schools more likely to flood and the possible rerouting of typical parent drop off and pick up procedures at some schools. While we hope these decisions are not necessary, some may have to be made quickly and as such, we are hopeful to help our families prepare as early as possible.Please continue to monitor HCPS social media pages, the district website, local news channels, phone calls, text messages, and email for official updates. Any necessary school closures for tomorrow will be announced no later than 6:00am. Stay safe and thank you for your trust and partnership.
